The Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR) and the University of Cyprus, Department of Psychology -Genetic Social Psychology Laboratory, will present the Right to Reparations Initiative, which is a research project through which seek to examine the evidence base for the impact of transitional justice, particularly reparative justice.
This project seeks to qualify the extent to which international law can repair harm of victims of war and conflict through reparations initiatives. In depth interviews were conducted with victims of atrocities in Cyprus, who are entitled to reparations or not. We will present our preliminary findings in the hopes that they will help us understand the impact of reparations on the lives of the people involved, from their own perspective.
The project will be presented on the following dates:
- Wednesday 29th January 2020, from 10am – 11am (University of Cyprus, Building: SFC 07, Room 010 Αίθουσα 010, Κτήριο ΚΟΔ07, Κέντρο Κοινωνικών Δραστηριοτήτων) The presentation will be in English.
- Thursday 30th January 2020, from 6pm – 8pm (Home for Cooperation, Conference Center, Nicosia.) Presentation will be in English, and translated into Turkish and Greek.
